EDUCATION FUND The California Map Society Education Fund was established in 2014 and is funded by contributions from our members. Education Fund programs are in addition to the semi-annual conferences in Northern and Southern California that are supported by general funds and registration fees. The Education Fund sponsors an annual lecture by a noted author or other expert in field of cartography. The lecture is held in two locations: One is the Rumsey Map Center at Stanford University, which co-sponsors the program. The other, during the same week, is a variable venue in Southern California. The Education Fund provides transportation, accommodations, and an honorarium for the speaker. The Education Fund program also sponsors a student paper award. Click here to read more. |
